Wookey Hole purchases second caravan park
Wookey Hole Ltd has purchased Homestead Caravan park in Wells, a residential park with campsite and holiday lodges. The six-figure deal comes just over a year after Wookey Hole bought 7-acre park Bucklegrove Holiday Park (See Image 3). The site has since seen business double following an extensive upgrade.
Wookey Hole is a successful company within the tourism industry, with over 20 attractions including the renowned Wookey Hole caves in Somerset, a 4D cinema and a mirror maze. They also run a 58-bed hotel and 10 lodges at its Wookey Hole site.
Managing director David Medley said, “The success of Bucklegrove Holiday Park showed us the potential this sector has for us. At our busiest times, we have 1,400 guests a night staying with us across our resort”. He adds that they have plans to develop Homestead Caravan Park by adding more lodges, as well as looking to expand their portfolio of holiday parks in the Somerset area over the coming years.
Regarding Wookey Hole’s overall success David said that “Last year was our best yet and despite the snow bringing challenges earlier this year, we have had a great Easter and look forward to a busy summer. Our aim is to provide affordable days out and affordable quality accommodation for families – and staying true to that market is working for us.”
