£200k Investment into Waterside Holiday Park and Spa
The Waterside Holiday Group has invested £200k into its Waterside Holiday Park and Spa at Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth. The investment will bring brand-new attractions and facilities. A new outdoor leisure space will feature a new beach bar and a family play area, open this summer.
The Weymouth-based destination has developed an area to the south of the park, which has private access to Bowleaze Cove beach. This 2,000 sqm area includes a play park, picnic area, and a bar. It also features water sports including kayaking, paddle boarding, and body boarding, courtesy of Jurassic Coast Activities.
The play area features swings, roundabouts, slides and climbing frames, suitable for children of all ages. There will be benches and deckchairs at the picnic area, all free to use on the grass.
The beachfront bar – The Shack - is open daily from 10 am until late, dependent on weather. The Shack was originally created inside a shipping container, but the team at The Waterside Group have given the bar a complete make-over, serving cocktails, a selection of local beers, soft and hot drinks. Here guests will also be able to order fresh pizzas and fish and chips from the park’s take away outlet, to be enjoyed on the beach. A varied children’s menu is also available.
Allen Main, general manager at Waterside Holiday Park, said: “The Shack and the outdoor play area are great additions to the park, and we’re very excited to be able to open our offering to local residents so they can get a taste of what life is like at Waterside as well”.
Non-residents are welcome to these areas of the park as well as owners and guests.
