Glamping advice for a greater share in the market
Glamping has grown in popularity over the last few years, not only with those holiday makers looking for a break with a difference, but also with landowners looking to cash-in on this blossoming UK industry.
Part of the reason why rural businesses decide to branch-out into glamping is because of its perceived ease of setting up. The truth, however, is that there are a number of glamping business models you can adopt and ways to differentiate yourself in the market. The only way to find the right solution for you is by doing your homework and consulting some of glamping’s major players.
Few know more about this industry than Kate Morel, who works for Quality Unearthed where she is known as the ‘Glamping Guru’. As someone whose work involves every aspect of the UK glamping sector - structure manufacturers, land owners, glamping owners, pricing, occupancy rates and guest feedback - she spends most of her time providing advice to existing holiday/glamping accommodation owners, estate, land and property owners.
With over 20 years’ experience in the UK holiday industry, Mark Scott from Clear Sky Safari Tents regularly gives advice on everything glamping related – from getting planning permission to marketing your site. His expertise comes from his experience running his glamping tents company (Clear Sky Safari Tents), his own glamping site and his farm.
Establishing a glamping branch to your existing business needn’t command large initial start-up costs. Nick Feeney from glamping pod company One Night Stand sees the future of glamping in the leasing of glamping pods rather than outright purchasing. With this model, he says that profitability can be hit in year one. What’s more, it gives landowners greater control when entering the industry.
Kate, Mark, and Nick will all be giving seminar talks on this blossoming sector at the Holiday Park & Resort Innovation show on the 9th & 10th November at Birmingham’s NEC Arena. The only way to benefit from these talks and the other 200 expert-led seminars is by registering for your free ticket here. Don’t miss out!
