Ruda Holiday Park Develops £400K Glamping Village
Parkdean Resorts is capitalising on the staycation boom with a new £400,000 Glamping Village at its Ruda Holiday Park in Croyde.
Holidaymakers visiting the popular park overlooking Croyde Bay in Devon will soon be able to camp in style within a new Glamping Village of 21 safari tents, adding to its existing caravan and lodge accommodation.
The holiday park operator, which has a total of four parks in Devon, welcomed over 85,000 holidaymakers to Ruda Holiday Park in 2016 and hopes that these enhancements will see staycation numbers rise again this year.
Giving families the option to make the most of the great outdoors in comfort, each of the tents will comprise of a small equipped kitchen, tables and chairs in a lounge area, separate sleeping areas with comfortable beds and fresh linen, electric lighting and plug sockets, as well as an outdoor decking space.
Six of the tents will be Safari Tent Plus, offering a television and DVD player, a slightly larger interior as well as toilet facilities in the tent in addition to the above. Bookings can be made now to go glamping this spring.
This year Parkdean Resorts has invested £50m in accommodation, leisure and retail facilities across its 73 UK parks, with additional spend at Ruda seeing a refurbishment of the arcade area.
John Waterworth, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “In recent years the Glamping trend has soared and we are pleased to be bringing this offering to Ruda Holiday Park. The new accommodation will give holidaymakers the chance to soak up the park’s stunning coastal surroundings, wake up to beautiful views, and enjoy the fresh air whilst dining al fresco on the decking - with home comforts in tow.”
