Longleat’s new resort and waterpark gain planning approval
Wiltshire Council have approved Longleat Estate’s plans for a new hotel, waterpark and conference facility. FORREC are behind the ambitious design of the development, which has been inspired by the estate manor’s 400-year history.
Besides the hotel, waterpark and conference facilities, the resort will include a variety of entertainment-focused buildings that will round up the guests’ overall experience. All in all, Longleat’s aim is to ensure families stay at the estate for longer periods of time - hoping to turn day visitors into overnight guests.
The approval of the scheme’s planning application is dependant on a variety of conditions, such as for example the submission of a noise management plan. Only if all conditions are met, construction of the scheme will begin.
Once completed, the development will create around 300 permanent jobs, and Longleat Enterprises are committed to inject £3m per year on the resort for the next ten years.
