De Vere re-launch following £100 million investment
De Vere have relaunched their country estate hotels and event spaces thanks to a £100 million investment from Starwood Capital Group.
This investment forms part of a larger scheme by The Principal Hotel Company to invest a total of £300 million on its 35 landmark properties all over the UK. De Vere have seen their large country estate hotel offering completely renovated to celebrate Britain’s beautiful landscapes and heritage. Part of their offering includes five properties situated in central London, such as De Vere Holborn Bars and De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms.
De Vere’s COO, Laurie Nicol, said: “We’ve got a fantastic team working on the transformation of De Vere, and our new-look brand is already receiving great feedback from both business and leisure guests. The £100m invested includes comprehensive hotel renovations, as well as staff training and development, and thoughtful expressions of the new brand such as Hunter wellies, unique sculptures and outdoor breakout spaces.”

The renovation of De Vere’s properties and spaces focused heavily the participating estates’ grounds and gardens, all with the aim of creating breathtaking outdoor spaces for guests to enjoy as a key part of their stay. The Great Outdoors project has included the introduction of bee hives and bug hotels to the grounds of the estates to encourage the local wildlife populate all outdoor spaces.
De Vere’s restaurants and bars also saw a big change in their design and menu offering by focusing on traditional British food and ingredients. Some of the hotels also launched a brand new coffee shop brand, Burr & Co., which is set to be introduced at more De Vere properties over the the next few months.
