Ramside Hall Hotel invests in luxury treehouses

Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club is looking to open a collection of treehouses next year, after receiving planning approval to build the quirky accommodation behind one of its golf courses.

Previously the venue carried out a series of significant investments including the opening of an additional wing of rooms, a second championship golf course and an award-winning spa.

The treehouses will have two bedrooms, a private living room and bathroom, and will have a rustic design to fit with the surroundings, while also being built with renewable materials wherever possible.

The treehouses will be built on stilts, giving guests views over the 18th fairway and green of the Prince Bishops’ golf course, with plans for each to have 16 windows allowing in lots of natural light. Construction is set to be completed next summer.

Ramside Estates Ltd are also investing £200,000 in a new excavator and “miracle concrete” to upgrade 40 bunkers on the golf course.

The championship course has over 80 bunkers and the restoration work will focus on upgrading 40 by installing new technologies to improve drainage and protect against flooding and adverse weather.

Helen Roseberry, director of golf at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Cub, added: “Today’s golf market is increasingly competitive and golf course owners have to look at ways to improve their facilities and deliver an outstanding experience for members and visitors.

“It was clear to us that the bunkers on our Prince Bishops’ Course needed new technology to withstand the weather and match the quality course conditions golfers enjoy when they tee up at Ramside.”

The renovation programme is now under way and will continue throughout the winter months.
