ECO-FRIENDLY TREE-TOP HOLIDAY LODGES PLANNED FOR HALL WOOD, PELYNT
Plans to build 15 unique tree-top timber holiday lodges at Hall Wood's woodland canopy near Pelynt, Cornwall have been approved by the Pelynt Parish Council.
Apart from the lodges themselves, plans for the scheme also include the development of an educational space, a waste water treatment facility, several solar panels to sustain the needs of the park, appropriate access routes and the necessary car parking space for future guests.
The educational aspect of the scheme hopes to eventually develop into a fully fledged ‘Hall Wood Forest School’, which will aim to engage visitor groups with wildlife conservation and outdoor activities, such as for example shelter building, animal spotting or outdoor cooking courses.
Alex King - the man behind the scheme - has teamed up with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust to develop this project in order to ensure the holiday park coexists with the area’s ecosystem and its environment in a non-disruptive way.
“We are an extremely proud supporter of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and a working relationship was the logical next step. We are excited to see where this partnership takes us, and we look forward to sharing the fruits of this with our guests in future,” said King.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Antonia Mullally said it was ‘refreshing to see a developer seek wildlife advice and support early on in the planning stages in order to enhance a site’s natural assets’.
