DUTCH ADVENTURE PARK REOPENS WITH THE HELP FROM KANOPEO
Last weekend, Klimrijk Brabant had the grand re-opening of their new treetop adventure. They had more than 300 adventurers climbing! Klimrijk Brabant, NL, is excited to announce a complete retrofit and rebuild of its Veldhoven facility. Dutch design, engineer and build company Active Constructions lead the project. The new aerial adventure course features the Saferoller® rolling continuous belay system from Kanopeo GmbH. Choosing Saferoller® again, Active Constructions refers to their long relationship with Kanopeo and notes that ‘’collaborating with Kanopeo is smooth and they are always willing to help.’’
Parent company, LIBEMA, NL, demonstrates its commitment to the environment by choosing a more sustainable adventure park.
''Our current treetop adventure is already built in a natural way, hidden in the woods, but with the new treetop adventure the trees will be even more maintained. I expect a more natural appearance from the new treetop adventure due to the new materials. Besides that, new elements and obstacles will be placed, which offers a new challenge. The new treetop adventure will also be built higher, 11 meters instead of 8 meters. We experienced the good and less good points from the last treetop adventure, so we will definitely take this into account with the development of the new treetop adventure.'' Huub Wijnen, manager at Klimrijk Brabant.
The original Klimrijk Brabant was built by Active Constructions in 2011 and used Saferoller® technology. It featured Treetop Adventure, Escape Rooms, Kids Treetop Adventure, Playing Mountains and other elements. The park has hosted scores of happy customers over the years. For 2018, Active Constructions has performed a major retrofit, making the treetop adventure an entirely new challenge. Several several points have been changed and improved during this process.
Active Constructions developed a completely new design for the park to incorporate the smoothest routes and ensure maximum capacity throughput. Their team of staff designers and technical engineers worked in close partnership with Klimrijk Brabant for the first month to determine the best routes and engineer the adventure. Determining the health of the trees was an essential part of the process and special attention was paid to environmental concerns and maintaining tree life. Active Constructions has developed a tree-friendly connection to the tree which it employs to ensure a healthy forest.
The construction team spent a month in the company sawmill pre-fabricating platforms before moving on to the site. Over three months, the new Klimrijk Brabant took shape. The adventure consists of 59 elements, with varying degrees of difficulty and different features. There are elements like a climbing wall, net tunnel, zig zag and zip lines. An essential part of selecting Saferoller®, as observed by Active Constructions and Klimrijk Brabant management is “the systems are efficient and give an extra dimension to the treetop adventure.’’
So when the 2018 aerial adventure season starts, head out to Klimrijk Brabant, Veldhoven, NL, and discover a brand new adventure in a familiar place.
